Bio

Toni-Ann Derby joined the West Coast Conference as Assistant Director, Championships, Sport Operations and Governance in September 2020. 
 
In her role, Derby serves as the sport administrator for Rowing, manages various WCC championships’ operations, serves as the liason for the Conference’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Game Managers, Athletics Diversity & Inclusion Designee Ad Hoc Group, Equity Diversity & Inclusion Student-Athlete (EDI) Ad Hoc Committee and secondary liaison to the EDI Committee.
 
Prior to joining the WCC, Derby served as the Assistant Director of Championships for the Sun Belt Conference. While at the Sun Belt, Derby worked primarily in championship operations, marketing and administration. She was a member of the Local Organizing Committee and assisted in planning the Women’s Final Four in 2020 (canceled due to COVID-19). 
  
Prior to joining the Sun Belt, Derby worked at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, as a Championship and Administrative Fellow. During her fellowship, Derby assisted in all MAAC championships and special events, including SAAC initiatives and game day graphics. She also assisted in the planning and execution of the NCAA Division I 2018 Women’s Basketball Regional in Albany, NY.
 
In addition to volunteering at various NCAA events and serving as a NCAA Site Representative, Derby is currently a member of the Minority Opportunity Athletic Association (MOAA) and serves on the Symposium Committee and the Rising Stars Mentorship Committee. She is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports, was awarded a Women of Color Scholarship in 2019 and graduated from the Institute for Administrative Advancement (IAA) program in 2020.
 
An islander native of Kingston, Jamaica, Derby moved to the United States in 2010. A 2014 graduate of Pace University, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentration in Marketing. Derby was a member of the Pace University Dance Team and served as a secretary then Vice President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
