Bio

Brian Favat joined Stanford Athletics in March 2015 and was named Associate Athletics Director for Finance & Business Operations in February 2019. As part of his duties, Favat oversees the department’s financial operations, as well as business operations and information technology. In addition, Favat serves as the sport administrator for men’s gymnastics, men’s rowing, coed and women’s sailing, men’s water polo, and women’s water polo.
 
He arrived at Stanford as Director, Ticketing Systems and Data Management before being promoted to Assistant Athletics Director, Business Strategy & Ticket Operations in 2016. In September 2018, he was promoted to Associate Athletics Director.
 
Favat also serves as an adjunct professor in the Menlo College Sports Management program, teaching undergraduate courses in Introduction to Sports Management and Sport Finance.
 
Prior to Stanford, Favat worked for several years as a technology consultant with Infosys Consulting, specializing in financial services and insurance companies. He began his professional career at Morgan Stanley as a program manager in their Enterprise Data Group.
 
The Gibbsboro, NJ native is a 2004 graduate of Boston College and earned a Masters of Business Administration in 2010 from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management. He and his wife have three daughters, Audrey Leigh, Vivian Rosemarie, and the late Marien Louise. They currently reside in Belmont, CA.
